Blue and (hello) lonesome

Friday, February 15th, 2008

In honor of singles awareness day, we thought we’d share a story with ya’ll: So about 3 years ago, one of the Jones Street Boys was dating this real nice girl. He went to meet her for dinner one night, and as he arrived at the restaurant, he sees that she is talking to a friend of hers. This Jones Street Boy moseys on up with a big smile on his face. “Hey” says the real nice girl to her friend, “this is…um, this is…well, uh…”. Oh yes. She forgot his name. With his head hung low he went back home, but not before picking up a bottle of bourbon. Turns out that the same day, a pair of black Jack Purcells had arrived in the mail. He went upstairs, laced up his new sneaks, opened the bottle and promptly drank himself into blackout. The next morning, he opened his eyes, contacts plastered to corneas, shoes still looking slick, and saw that there was a mic plugged in to his sad little desktop Pro Tools recording rig and a guitar on the floor. He had, apparently, written a song. Today “Hello Lonesome” was featured on the homepage of the very cool Planetary Group http://www.planetarygroup.com/. You can check it out at our Myspace page.

Johnny 5. The Cylons. R2-D2. Hal. The Sentinals. K-9. Mecha-Streisand.

These famous robots have got nothing on us. We’re ever evolving and ever improving just like them! We’ve got a brand new Facebook page for you to peruse, our website is now fully interactive so you can leave comments on our blog about Sundance and anything else you’re feeling, and we’re learning to use our robotic proboscises to hack undetected into Diebold voting machines. What power!

OK. Maybe we’re not the best robots. Sometimes we cry alot. We’re really just 5 dudes who like to carve designs out of hair on our faces.

But we are nothing if not party machines. And this Saturday we’re going to throw down Birthday style: Aquarii unite!! In honor of the new grey hair on Walt’s head and the sudden dignified air that surrounds publicist Bonnie Hannah, we’re throwing them a show. I mean, we’re throwing them a party that’s really a show! Yipes.

Oh, and it’s free. Come tip a glass with us.

Saturday 2/9 @ Midway - 9:30pm
(Formerly Scenic) Avenue B & 3rd St. in Manhattan
FREE SHOW!!!
