Sundanced
Friday, January 25th, 2008So, we’re pretty sure that the Sundance Film Festival might be more appropriately called The ‘hey you, are you trying to sleep? seriously? good luck, sucker’…Festival. Don’t get us wrong, the beauty of Park City, the positive vibe on Main Street, the pizza at Red Banjo, and the astonishing population of creative artists are all overwhelming. But the exponential go-go-go is downright amazing. Thank heaven for bourbon and hot chocolate.
On Wednesday, we played a show at the Sidecar Bar for the fantastic folks of the environmentally wise Green Initiative, who not only put us up in an beautiful ski chateau with incredible views of the snow dusted Rockies, but also loaned us a car so we could haul our butts and gear around throughout Park City! Later in the day, after a round of beers and some pizza-pie that rivaled the best of NYC, we headed - along with our wonderful friends Caroline and JT - to play two sets for the New York Film Commission, who threw a HUGE party at a mansion in the mountains. This house was so gigantic and luxurious that it had a basketball court in the basement, mountain scenes carved into the doors, a full bar in the basement, and no less than 3000 square feet of deck space. Needless to say, we were floored. We played two long sets and put the party to sleep around 4AM when we hopped in a van and went bleary-eyed to the airport.
It was the most delightful whirlwind we’ve every been pummeled by.
